Three wheels seen from above, each with a stool and a bowl of water

A quiet room, eight wheels

Fernhill is Mara's studio, a converted print shop on Birchwood Lane with north light, eight wheels, two long tables and a kiln that fires every Thursday. Classes stay small enough that an instructor sits down beside you. Between classes the room is open studio, and the shelf by the door sells what students and instructors have finished.

On the shelf this month

  • Cobalt mug, stoneware lip
  • Wide serving bowl
  • Bottle vase, dipped shoulder
  • Dinner plate, pooled centre
  • Lidded box, hand-built
  • Small planter with saucer

Sample pieces for the concept. The real shelf changes every firing.

Try one class first

Tell us which class and when you are free. Mara or Dev will write back with a seat and what to wear.
